Obinna Iyiegbu, often known as Obi Cubana, a Nigerian billionaire businessman, has recounted how he looked for work after completing the one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
Obi Cubana, a political science graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, said he was unable to find work after serving the country in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja.
Following his mother’s burial, which became a topic of conversation on social media, he spoke to BBC Pidgin in an interview yesterday.
The funeral was one of the most well-attended public ceremonies in recent memory, with millionaire young men and women displaying their wealth.
He claims that after struggling to find work, he was able to make his first N1 million through an entrepreneurial enterprise.
“After completing my mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) training in Abuja, I began looking for work but was unsuccessful.
“As a result of that, I started doing several part-time jobs and eventually became a real estate agent.” I normally get 5% of every work that is completed correctly. Along the way, my colleagues and I met a man who asked us to assist him with furnishing his home.
“We did such a good job that he handed me N500,000 in addition to the N600,000 profit I made from the deal. That brought the amount to N1.1 million. “I made my first million naira after I completed my NYSC,” he stated.
