Coming at you with the information you really need to know, fans have come to the conclusion Lil Nas X was not snapped away by Thanos during Avengers: Infinity War.

We’re not sure about you, but we’ve often sat here wondering whether the Old Town Road star was dusted into oblivion in the 2018 film, which saw Josh Brolin’s villain snap his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet and wipe half of all living creatures from Earth.

But because some people clearly have a lot of time on their hands to think about these things, some eagle-eared fans picked up on the telltale clue Lil Nas X was still kicking about after viewing the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) epic, Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings.

According to Reddit user LegendofConner, who posted their thoughts online, the MCU likely takes place in a reality in which the Montero (Call Me By Your Name) star was part of the remaining 50% to survive the Snap, having one point on Spider-Man as well as Black Panther.

It’s all got to do with a scene in Shang-Chi, in which they explained: ‘Idk if somebody’s already pointed this out, but since this movie was obviously set in 2023, and the snap happened in 2018, Lil Nas X had to have survived.

‘Why? Because Shang-Chi and Katie were doing karaoke to Old Town Road, which came out in 2019, after the snap. Lil Nas had to have survived to make the song.’

We cannot fault that logic.

Responding to the spicy theory on Twitter, Lil Nas X shared a screenshot of the Reddit post and simply wrote: ‘Holy s**t.’

Fans chimed in with their thoughts on the addition to the canon of who got snapped and who didn’t, with the official Reddit account musing: ‘Huge if true.’

Loving the turn of events, another wrote: ‘I love the idea of billions of people being wiped out of existence and lil nas x just makes his funny cowboy song anyway.’

As one wondered whether Thanos was a Lil Nas X fan, the singer responded: ‘Need someone to sync thanos listening to industry baby.’

Do need this.

The brilliant theory comes after Lil Nas X revealed the track list and album art for his upcoming debut release, Montero.

He’ll drop his self-titled record in a matter of weeks, and the excitement is only growing as we now have names for the songs that will feature, with the Grammy-winner revealing he collaborated with some famous friends, including Sir Elton John, Miley Cyrus, Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat.
