Man City player ratings vs Leicester as Bernardo Silva and Kye Walker shine for the Blues

Ederson: Great save from Ndidi as Leicester broke, and he bravely took a set of Barnes’ studs in the face in first half 7

Kyle Walker: Heroic block to prevent a goal early on, and his recovery pace was important a couple more times 8

Ruben Dias: Kept Vardy relatively quiet, and effected an important block on Lookman’s shot late in the game 7

Aymeric Laporte: Great pass for Torres just held up on the surface – he will take some shifting in this form 7

Joao Cancelo: Constantly seeking to break the Leicester lines down the left, and his willingness to shoot brought the goal 7

Rodri: his lack of pace was exposed by Leicester several times, but he made a couple of vital interceptions 6

Ilkay Gundogan: City’s best work went through him but when the Foxes stepped it up, his defence wasn’t great 7

Jack Grealish: Drew in two defenders every time he was on the ball, but some of his usage was average 6

Bernardo Silva: Popped up with a vital goal that he deserved – went close in first half, too 8

Ferran Torres: not his day, with shots blocked and into the side netting, subbed off after the goal 5

Gabriel Jesus: the standard dropped after two excellent games, with a missed header and some sloppy passing 5

Subs

Raheem Sterling – (for Torres 63) not at his sharpest 6

Fernandinho – (for Jesus 83) no time to mark

Not used: Carson, Zinchenko, Stones, Ake, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Foden, Mahrez
